Peter Julius Coyet : ウィキペディア英語版 | Peter Julius Coyet Peter Julius Coyet (1618–1667), was a Swedish ambassador to England during the time of Oliver Cromwell. ==Biography== He was born in Stockholm; the grandson of Gillis Coyet and brother of Frederick Coyett. In 1654-1655 he was Ambassador to England. In 1657 he was reassigned to Holland. He was involved with the Peace of Roskilde in 1658. He also negotiated the breach of the peace with Denmark in the summer of 1658. Shortly afterwards he was sent again to the Netherlands to persuade this country not to supply weapons to Denmark. Coyet was knighted in 1649, and in 1657 he was appointed State Secretary of Sweden. In 1660 he met in the Hague with Charles II of England. In 1667 he was involved in the Treaty of Breda, where he died.
